Established in Paris in 1992, M/M Paris is an Art and Design partnership composed of Mathias Augustyniak and Michael Amzalag. In a collection of 26 letters created for Prada, titled “Pradalphabet”, each individual characters were treated as pieces of architecture. A total of 5 t-shirts designs will be released at Milan Design Week in April, each featuring a letter from “Pradalphabet” on the front and P-R-A-D-A / M logo on the back. Every purchase will be accompanied with an exclusive 64 page album, explaining the story and design of the project and also an essay by Italian writer and philosopher Federico Nicolao.

‘When we were commissioned to create this t-shirt project for prada, we thought that the beauty of buying a shirt is that it is a memory of a place, person or event. In theory, to buy a prada t-shirt, adorned with its logo, is like having a memory of the particular world by this brand…’ – M/M Paris

    G5600GR-7
Evocative of the very first G-Shock (DW5000C), the G5600GR-7 borrows its handsome square face. Truly building on a classic, the Go Green Project 5600 crisp white body is accented in forest green with a patent finish while maintaining the uncompromised G-Shock features of Shock Resistance, 200M Water Resistance and Full Auto EL green tinted Backlight.

    G6900GR-3
Encased in eye-catching chartreuse with forest green contrast details (a new color shade in the G-Shock family) the G6900GR-3 reinvents the classic G-Shock DW6900. Beneath its sleek finish and irreverent color reside G-Shock’s superior water and shock resistance, 48 City World Time and 1/100 Sec Chronograph.

    G2300GR-3
An evergreen twist on a classic G-Shock, The G2300GR-3 features unparalleled shock and 200M water resistance, 48 City World Time and Daily alarm with snooze.

The Go Green Project watches will be available in February 2010 for $110 each.

Sometimes an idea is so obvious, it seems a bit nuts that no-one has thought of it before. Our studio partner Paul Finn just came up with this little bit of brilliance: Pantone Swatches. Here’s Paul on how it came about:

“Whilst walking through Regent’s Park Rose Gardens on Bank Holiday Monday I was discussing my love of watches with a friend. I was talking about how my favorite yellow digital watch (which I bought on my honeymoon in Japan) now has a broken strap, I couldn’t find a replacement and couldn’t travel all the way to Tokyo to buy a new one. I was telling my friend how much I’d love it if Swatch was to join forces with Pantone to create a whole plethora of coloured swatches. The conversation morphed into how you could create your own Pantone Swatch watch and pick any colour for the individual straps, the watch face and casing. We felt that the numbers, hands and date should be unchangeable.

I brought up the idea in the pub last night and Ben from Stylo coined Pantone Swatch as the title! Inspired. I spoke with Alistair this morning and he’s taken it a step further and created some fantastic mock-ups. We hope that the people from Swatch and Pantone will see this and think that it’s a great idea (and invite us to build an incredible website in which you can make your own watch) and we will be wearing our very own Pantone Swatches for ever!”

Pantone are already knocking out a range of products through collaborations with various designers: there are Whitbread Wilkinson’s ubiquitous Pantone mugs, Barber Osgerby’s draw-joppingly lovely Flight Stools (below), and a host of other bits, from spectacles to courier bags (check out this comprehensive list of Pantone products from If It’s Hip, It’s Here.)

At one point I owned about 120 pairs of sneakers at one time and overall in my shoe “career,” I’ve handled at least 200 pairs. I’m over all that now though. Grown up, on to bigger, more grown up things. I decided to sell all my shoes like a kid sells his comic book collection when they grow up. I bought a set of turntables, records, a DSLR, a new iMac and new clothes with the money I made off of it and here I am today.

But every sneakerhead had a pair of shoes they fell in love with. One shoe that defined their entire collection. A pair that (if) they had that one pair, they would no longer want or need any other pair. I recently was able to acquire my grail.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present you with my grail, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid “Virtual Mo” edition. The detail is spectacular on these and the quality is second to none. Why they’re so special is because they’re Oregon-specific and of such high quality. On the uppers, the laser artwork depicts Oregon’s Sauvie Island and Mt. Hood. On the inners of both, it’s laser inscribed with Mt. Hood and Sauvie Island (see pics). On the midsole, there are laser inscribed thoughts. Very nice touch. These came out in 2005 and back then I tried getting my hands on a pair but couldn’t find a pair I could afford at the time (I would’ve been a senior in high school, being broke and about to goto college). But with patience and time, I got hooked up with this pair (at a special price, might I add).

And they couldn’t have come at a better time. I just got my camera’s sensor cleaned and picked it up today from the camera repair shop. I also built a lightbox out of foamcore, tape and work lights. This is my first time taking it for a spin. Enjoy the pictures (click for full-size). And I apologize for the lighting, I was playing with the lights a lot.
